Neveldine, Taylor leave 'Hex' (VAR, /F)

By Nancy Tartaglione-Vialatte

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor have dropped out as the directors of "Jonah Hex." The duo wrote the script but have decided not to direct the film, citing “creative differences,” says Vareity. The DC Comics property is expected to star Josh Brolin.

Warner Bros. is now moving quickly to plug in a new director and is determined to keep Brolin in the fold for a spring start, says Variety. Neveldine and Taylor are best known for writing and directing the Jason Statham starrer "Crank."

Jonah Hex is a former alcoholic and confederate soldier turned supernatural loner and gunslinger. The comic book was introduced in the 1970s, created by writer John Albano.
