Abrams has a new spy series (TW, THR)
By Nancy Tartaglione
A new adventure-action-romance series from J.J. Abrams has triggered a bidding war at three major networks. The Wrap reported yesterday that the Abrams and Josh Reims-penned spec script has generated strong interest at ABC, NBC and CBS. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC is close to landing the deal.
Networks were asked to deliver their best offers earlier this week to the studio, Warner Bros. TV.
The project was described to TW as a "fun romp" in the vein of past classic TV spy adventures. The two main characters are spies who are also married and deeply in love.
Reims first worked with Abrams on "Felicity" and was an executive producer on ABC's "What About Brian."
