U gets 'TMI' for Reynolds, Faris (VAR, THR)

By Nancy Tartaglione

Universal Pictures has acquired "TMI," a comic vehicle for Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris, Variety reports. The film's storyline follows the premise that while honesty is the best policy for a relationship, "too much information" might not be the best thing. Separately, The Hollywood Reporter says Faris is also in negotiations to star as Robin Williams' daughter in "Wedding Banned."

"TMI" is one of the first purchases made by the new Universal regime of Adam Fogelson and Donna Langley. The script is from Kirsten "Kiwi" Smith and Marc Klein.

Andrew Panay will produce with Jonathon Komack Martin. Reynolds will be executive producer.

Meanwhile, Touchstone's "Banned" revolves around a long-divorced couple who kidnap their daughter on her wedding day to prevent her from making the same mistakes they did.

Jack Amiel and Michael Begler wrote the script. The project, produced by Mandeville's David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, has no director attached.
