Broderick teams with Michaels for NBC sitcom 'Beach Lane' (VAR, THR)
By Nancy Tartaglione
Matthew Broderick is joining forces with Lorne Michaels. According to the trades, the actor will star in an NBC sitcom exec produced by Michaels and Marci Klein. "Beach Lane" sets Broderick as a celebrity author brought in by an irresponsible millionaire to run his struggling small-town Hamptons newspaper.
Paul Simms wrote the script and will exec produce, along with Michaels and Marci Klein.
"Beach Lane" would be Broderick's first TV series (his late father, of course, was the patriarch on the 1970s drama series "Family" while his wife starred in a little HBO series once upon a time).
Broderick has, however, guested on Michaels' "30 Rock" and will be seen on NBC's upcoming reality entry "Who Do You Think You Are."
