FROM 'WILD HOGS' TO 'OLD DOGS': TRAVOLTA, BECKER TEAM FOR NEW DISNEY COMEDY; PRESTON, DAUGHTER ELLA BLUE MAY STAR (THR)
By Nancy Vialatte
"Wild Hogs" star John Travolta and director Walt Becker are gearing up to re-team for another Disney comedy, this one titled "Old Dogs." The Hollywood Reporter says that Becker has signed on to helm the movie, with Travolta in talks to star.
Keeping things in the family, Travolta is reportedly also hoping to cast his wife Kelly Preston, and daughter, Ella Blue, alongside him.
David Diamond and David Weissman wrote the screenplay, which was originally titled "Old Dads," but plot details are hush-hush. It is believed that the film is a buddy comedy about two guys who become middle-aged dads. Disney acquired the rights as a pitch in a seven-figure deal last summer.
No word yet on who will fill the other buddys role.
Film will be produced by Tapestry's Andrew Panay, Peter Abrams and Robert L. Levy who also produced Becker's directorial debut, 2002's "Van Wilder."
