TYLER TO STAR OPPOSITE NORTON IN 'HULK' (THR)
By Nancy Vialatte
Liv Tyler will star opposite Edward Norton in the upcoming The Incredible Hulk. The actress has signed on to play Dr. Bruce Banners longtime love Betty Ross, says The Hollywood Reporter. Louis Leterrier is directing the movie, which is being produced by Avi Arad, Gale Anne Hurd and Kevin Feige.
Ross is a classic "Hulk" character from the comic book's beginning in 1962 and acts as Banner's fellow scientist and ally in his quest to rid him of the monster lurking deep inside him. The movie will unfold with Ross estranged from Banner, but with the pursuit of the Hulk heating up and Banner on the run trying to cure his condition, Ross finds herself swept back into his life, THR notes.
In the last Hulk adaptation, directed by Ang Lee, Jennifer Connelly played the character.
Filming is set to start this summer in Toronto.
Tyler was most recently seen in Mike Binder's "Reign Over Me." Her upcoming films include the indie comedy "Smother" and the horror thriller "The Strangers."
