APATOW JOINS FUNNYORDIE CRONIES...FOR THE PORN (LAT, VAR, THR, FOD)

Last Friday, the Hollywood Reporter informed us that Will Ferrell and Adam McKay�s FunnyOrDie.com was preparing to announce the addition of new celebrity partners. And so it has come to pass that Hollywood�s current king of comedy, Judd Apatow, has joined the duo.

Apatow has signed on to be a principal partner and in a video posted on FOD yesterday, may be looking for new revenue streams via porn. "The only thing that makes money on the Internet is porno,' Apatow says to his cronies.

The site was launched in April this year and has attracted more than 3.6 million unique viewers spurred on by the now infamous "The Landlord," starring Ferrell, McKay and McKay�s toddler daughter.

But, despite a parade of A-list faces that includes Bill Murray, Danny DeVito, and Eva Longoria, FOD has yet to recreate that level of initial success.

Ferrell, McKay and Apatow are currently working together on "Step Brothers" at Sony.

"Adam and Will and myself have been friends for many years, and we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to create a situation where the friendship could not survive," Apatow said.

Variety reports that Apatow will likely bring aboard talent with whom he's worked on his pics. "I always like working with new funny people," Apatow said. The site is "another opportunity to find interesting people to collaborate with."

Apatow said he's shot original content with Ferrell and McKay that has yet to be posted.

Banking such material could prove beneficial for the site should the WGA succeed in preventing scribes from creating material for the Web during a potential strike after Oct. 31. (VAR)

However, a strike isn't worrying Apatow just yet; he's not under a set schedule to deliver new fare to the site. "It not like our show can't be written this week, because there is no show," Apatow said. "We'll go down that road when (a strike) is a current reality. We'll keep working until there's a strike."
