Eminem will travel with Par's 'Gun' (VAR)

Eminem will play a bounty hunter in his first starring turn since appearing in 2002's "8 Mile." Pic is a modern adaptation of the western TV series "Have Gun - Will Travel" for Paramount Pictures, which is expected to fast track the project's development. Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg will produce the film with Jimmy Iovine, through his Interscope/Shady/Aftermath shingle on the Paramount lot.
Writes Variety of why it's taken so long for Eminem to pick his second feature:
Since "8 Mile," Eminem's film debut for Universal, studios have been looking to be in business with him. The rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, and his reps had a hard time finding the right follow-up, however.
"When this property essentially became available we discussed it and brought it to Marshall and he was very intrigued and excited about the concept," Rosenberg said.
