Happy Madison is rounding up a cast of Adam Sandler cohorts to star in an untitled comedy for Columbia Pictures. Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider and David Spade are all in negotiations for the laffer to be directed by frequent Sandler collaborator Dennis Dugan. A summer start date is being eyed by the studio.
Sandler's Sony-based Happy Madison is producing the film which was written by Sandler and "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" scribe Fred Wolf.
Variety says the high-concept story is a comedy about five best friends from high school who reunite 30 years later on a Fourth of July weekend.
The actors have worked together previously but never all on the same project. All save Spade appeared in last years You Dont Mess With the Zohan.
