Nolan prepares 'Inception'(VAR, THR)

Christopher Nolan is switching Bat channels. Rather than return immediately to a new dark knight tale, the director will make contemporary sci-fi actioner "Inception" his next directing vehicle. Warner Bros. has reportedly paid seven figures for the script by Nolan who will begin production this summer.
The film is said to be set within the architecture of the mind - so perhaps harkening back to his breakout feature "Memento" - and is being eyed as a summer 2010 release.
Nolan will produce with Emma Thomas, his longtime producing partner.
This pushes back any potential filming on a new Batman film, but three years - and "The Prestige" - passed between "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight," as The Hollywood Reporter notes. Nolan has also long been attached to direct a big-screen adaptation of the British TV series "The Prisoner" for producer Scott Stuber at Universal.
