Update on Cruise/Abrams 'Mission: Impossible' (THR, STV, COLL)
By Nancy Tartaglione
Although it was first reported days ago by Spoiler TV which had gotten the info from TV Guide, the trades have now confirmed that JJ Abrams and Tom Cruise have agreed to co-produce a fourth "Mission: Impossible" installment.
There is a potential 2011 release date for the Paramount film, says The Hollywood Reporter. However, the timing is not yet definite with both Abrams and Cruise committed to other projects.
Abrams is producing a "Star Trek" sequel for Paramount with a potential summer 2011 release. He is also producing the comedy "Morning Glory" for Paramount.
Cruise has been juggling a bevy of potential starring roles with an untitled James Mangold thriller the most likely.
