Ding-dong: Jackman to come calling in Fox's 'Avon Man' (VAR)
By Nancy Tartaglione
Twentieth Century Fox has acquired "Avon Man," a comedy pitch from "Hitch" writer Kevin Bisch, in a high-six figure deal as a star vehicle for Hugh Jackman. Bisch will write the script about workers laid off from an auto dealership; one of whom is reluctantly recruited into becoming an Avon salesman.
Using his charm and good looks to become a top seller, the salesman sets out to save his financially strapped family and town by recruiting his buddies into the makeup business to win a regional contest.
Jackman and Seed Prods. partner John Palermo will produce. Also producing is Gary Foster at Krasnoff Foster Entertainment.
