Focus Features International boards 'Conspirator' (SCR, VAR)

Focus Features International has come aboard Robert Redford's "The Conspirator" to handle international sales, Screen reports. FFI chief Alison Thompson will commence sales at next month's AFM. CAA holds North American rights.
The film, with an original screenplay by James Solomon, started production this week in Savannah, Georgia.
Tom Wilkinson, Robin Wright Penn, James McAvoy, Kevin Kline, Evan Rachel Wood, Alexis Bledel and Justin Long star in the part-thriller, part-courtroom drama.
Wright Penn plays Mary Surratt, the only female charged in the conspiracy to kill Abraham Lincoln. McAvoy plays Frederick Aiken, the war hero assigned to defend her.
The American Film Company's Robert Stone, Webster Stone and Brian Falk will produce alongside Greg Shapiro of Kingsgate Films.
