The Doha Tribeca Film Festival has announced a new series of dialogues to be held year-round.
The talks, panels, conversations and masterclasses will feature events with filmmakers including Mira Nair, Danny Boyle, Elia Suleiman, R.J. Cutler and industry executives Lynette Howell, Ken Kamins and Cassian Elwes among others.
The inaugural Doha Tribeca Film Festival runs October 29 through November 1 in Doha, Qatar.
Amanda Palmer, Executive Director of DTFF, said, "We've programmed a range of opportunities to engage Doha in the world of filmmaking like never before. These panels and master classes complement our year-round education."
"This is what film festivals do best," said Geoff Gilmore who joined Tribeca Enterprises as Chief Creative Officer after leaving Sundance earlier this year. "They provide context and discussion to let films grow and evolve. This program will advance our goals in Doha, which include laying the groundwork for an industry and elevating the dialogue about film."
As part of Doha Talks, Danny Boyle will host a masterclass while two Q&A; sessions will be hosted by Palmer with Nair on October 30 and Suleiman on November 1.
Further, three Industry Conversations will explore the business of entertainment from documentary filmmaking to film finance and production and distribution in the global marketplace.
