Bartha Broadway bound? (VAR)
By Nancy Tartaglione
"The Hangover's" missing groom, Justin Bartha, may be about to make his Broadway debut, stepping into the role originally announced for T.R. Knight in the Stanley Tucci-directed revival of "Lend Me a Tenor."
Variety reports that reps for the show did not confirm Bartha's casting. But the actor is listed among the cast on the show's official online ticket outlet.
Bartha would play Max, assistant to the general manager of the Cleveland Opera Company, who is forced to take the place of a temperamental star at a gala performance of "Otello" when the latter has a meltdown and is unable to go on.
Knight dropped out of the revival prior to the announcement of dates last week.
The show begins previews March 11 for an April 4 opening. The confirmed cast includes Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Jan Maxwell, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jay Klaitz and Brooke Adams.
