CBS agrees to sell TV shows for 99c on iTunes (FT)
By Nancy Tartaglione
CBS has agreed to begin selling some TV shows for 99 cents per episode on iTunes, confirming a previous Financial Times report that some TV networks had agreed to halve prices. "There are certain shows that will be sold on Apple for 99 cents," said CBS' Leslie Moonves. He added, however, that the network had not worked out which shows to offer at lower costs.
Other television networks have also agreed to similar terms and are expected to begin selling some shows at the reduced price, the FT earlier reported. The lower prices could arrive in time for the consumer launch of Apple's iPad.
