UPDATE: Foxx's agent says "no truth" to 'Laverne & Shirley' report (TVG, TW)

By Nancy Tartaglione

UPDATED: The Wrap reports that Foxx's agent, via his publicist, has said there is "no truth" to the story that Foxx is writing a bigscreen "Laverne & Shirley."

PREVIOUSLY:

Garry Marshall has told TV Guide that Jamie Foxx is currently writing a bigscreen version of "Laverne & Shirley" that would star Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel. Much was made of this potential pairing during the press tour for Marshall's "Valentine's Day" in which both actresses had roles - as did Foxx.

According to TV Guide, Marshall said the update would be "a whole different modern day take on how they came up on the streets during difficult times. Laverne would be this very tough girl with a big 'L' tattooed on her arm. Jennifer Garner would play Laverne and Jessica Biel would play Shirley."

Further, Foxx would write in roles for the original sitcom stars, Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams. The actor has previously written for TV.
