Efron attached to 'Snabba Cash' remake (HV)

Zac Efron is attached to star in a remake of the Swedish thriller "Snabba Cash," according to the Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog. Translation of the Swedish title is "easy money."
Based on a novel by Jens Lapidus, "Snabba" wove together storylines involving drugs and organized crime, HV said, with a young financial whiz.
Warner Bros. won remake rights for Efron to produce at his studio-based shingle in heated bidding after UTA and Magnolia Entertainment hosted a screening and reception for the Berlin fest entry's filmmaker Daniel Espinosa at the Hammer Museum in late March, HV said.
Bidders included Universal, Summit, Paramount, Fox, the Weinstein Co., Mandate and Warners.
Atlas Entertainments Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are producing, along with original producer Fredrik Wikstrom.
The deal, HV notes, has a "short fuse" clause whereby rights revert to the producers if Warner Bros. dawdles on production of the remake.
