Spielberg's reported interest in 'Robopocalypse' stirs up frenzy in H'wood (VUL)
By Nancy Tartaglione
Last night, Vulture reported that DreamWorks has optioned a novel by Daniel H. Wilson called "Robopocalypse" which sources say Steven Spielberg has been considering as his next project. A new draft of the adaptation has just been handed in by Drew Goddard, and, says Vulture, the town is desperate to get its hands on it.
Said one Vulture source, "With DreamWorks, everything is potentially a Steven project -- until it's not. That's why everyone's in a frenzy trying to read it."
Meanwhile, directors' agents are trying to read it in case Spielberg decides not to do the project. As Vulture notes, the thinking goes: "If Spielberg flirted with it, it's forever marked as a Quality Movie, so everyone wants to scoop it up if it gets dropped."
