Darren Aronofsky will direct HBO's "Hobgoblin," a drama pilot to be written by Michael Chabon and his wife, Ayelet Waldman. The story, per Variety, follows a group of con men and magicians who use their skills of deception to help defeat Hitler and the Germans during WWII.
Since dropping out of "The Wolverine," Aronofsky has been weighing his options and is shopping his Noah's Ark project for which he's said to be eyeing Christian Bale as the lead.
"Hobgoblin" will mark Aronofsky's first foray into television.
Aronofsky, Chabon and Waldman will executive produce with John Lesher and Adam Kassan.
