Tony Scott getting serious about a new 'Wild Bunch' (DH)
By Nancy Tartaglione
Shortly after it was announced that Ridley Scott would direct a new installment of "Blade Runner", Deadline reported Thursday that his brother, Tony Scott, is getting serious about a new version of the iconic 1969 western "The Wild Bunch."
Scott is in discussions with Warner Bros on the project, Deadline said.
His next film, however, will be "Hell's Angels," though its timing will depend on whether he gets the actor he wants to play gang leader Sonny Barger. Deadline says Scott wants Jeff Bridges.
The original "Wild Bunch" starred William Holden, Ernest Borgnine, Robert Ryan and Warren Oates.
Per Deadline, the studio has tried for years to get the project going. Scott and producer Jerry Weintraub have a take for the movie that Brian Helgeland will draft.
