Anne Hathaway to join Hugh Jackman in 'Les Miserables'? (BRW, PL)
By Nancy Tartaglione
BroadwayWorld.com is reporting that Hugh Jackman has his eye on Anne Hathaway to co-star as Fantine in the film adaptation of "Les Miserables."
The duo has a history with the material: Hathaway sang her own version of "Own My Own" at the Oscars earlier this year to Jackman.
Jackman is to play Jean Valjean in the film under Tom Hooper's direction. Cameron Mackintosh is producing the Universal/Working Title project with Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
BroadwayWorld points to itsonthegrid.com which has reported additional actors being courted have included Russell Crowe for Javert, Geoffrey Rush for Thenardier, Helena Bonaham Carter for Madame Thenardier, Hayden Panettiere, Miranda Cosgrove, Lucy Hale, and Emma Watson for the roles of Eponine and Cosette, and Amy Adams and Rebecca Hall for Fantine.
The Playlist says Crowe is expected to play Javert.
