BAY'S PLATINUM SPINS TO ROGUE, REMAKING 'BIRDS' FOR UNI (VAR, CITY)

Michael Bay�s Platinum Dunes has signed on with Focus genre arm Rogue in a three-year first look deal. Horror flicks will be produced in the under $25 million range while Platinum execs Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will receive as much as 10% of first-dollar gross according to Variety.
Pictures in the pipeline include a remake of �Near Dark� from Samuel Bayer as well as a re-do of �The Changeling.� New Line is releasing Platinum�s �Texas Chainsaw Massaacre: The Beginning.�
Meanwhile, Platinum is also at work on a remake of Alfred Hitchcock�s seminal scarer �The Birds� for Universal. TMZ's City of Industry column says Naomi Watts could be offered the Tippi Hedren role.
