Viola Davis Takes Roles In 'Ender's Game,'' Beautiful Creatures' (VAR, THR)

Oscar nominee and SAG Award winner Viola Davis has booked two new projects. Per Variety, she'll take supporting roles in Summit's "Ender's Game" and in Warner Bros. and Alcon's "Beautiful Creatures."
Richard LaGravenese is directing "Beautiful Creatures" with Erwin Stoff, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson and Molly Smith producing. LaGravenese wrote the adaptation of the Margaret Stohl-Kami Garcia book about two teens who must confront a curse that has haunted the girl's family for generations.
DP Philippe Rousselot and costume designer Jeffrey Kurland have also joined the project, The Hollywood Reporter adds.
Gavin Hood is directing "Ender's Game" with Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin and Harrison Ford. It's the adaptation of Orson Scott Card's novel pic set in Earth's utopian future. Butterfield plays a genius strategist recruited by the government to help destroy an insect-like alien race. Davis will play a military psychologist.
