Show Must Go On: Sick Seacrest Rallies (THR, MSNBC, TMZ)
By Hollywood Wiretap staff
A noticeably wan Ryan Seacrest took to the 'American Idol' stage Wednesday despite battling what some said was a stomach bug. Even Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe stepped in for Ryan during the dress rehearsal this afternoon, TMZ alerted fans. But Seacrest gutted his way through the two-hour show, even singing along in a Queen tribute. But the MSNBC Clicker clucked, "While he soldiered on and fulfilled his contractual obligations, all the time in the world with the makeup folks couldnt keep him from looking like death warmed over or get him to stray far from either a chair or the judges station." Earlier this week, Seacrest inked a lucrative new two-year deal to keep him on the show.
