'Heroes' unlikely source (NYT)
By Nancy Vialatte
Though it might be surprising to some, "Heroes" creator Tim Kring is not the kind of guy you'd normally find at a comic book convention.
Indeed, the veteran writer and producer who is behind one of the Fall TV season's only bonafide hits is better known for his mainstream shows like "Crossing Jordan."
The New York Times today profiles Kring and his rather unconventional approach to the superhero genre.
The kind of closed-end TV that all of us have done for years is not what a lot of writers want to do, Kring tells the NYT, "I wanted to do a large, ensemble saga. I was intrigued by these other shows that were working and this kind of Dickensian storytelling, with chapters unfolding one after another.
